Riches

The other day I was walking to class with one of my friends. On the way she told me I was in one of her dreams the previous night, and then she went on to explain it to me. She told me that another friend of ours was also in it, and that the three of us were swimming in a pool of money. I made the comment to her, “Not one of us is going to be rich.” I made that comment because we are all going into the journalism field, which is not a huge moneymaker.

After saying that I got to really thinking about it. It hit me then why God was leading me into Journalism. Yes, I want to serve him with my life. And through Journalism, I can do that. However, that is not what this blog is really about. When I interviewed a reporter, he told me a journalist can expect to start off making in the low 20,000 range. That is going to force me to rely on God for my needs, and most likely not have a lot of extra stuff.

Then I had another thought. What does it mean to really be “rich,” or “wealthy?” The bible says in Ephesians 1:7-8 “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.” I have Christ so I can truly consider myself one of the richest people on the planet. Now its time to share that wealth with the world.

Getting started

Alright. This is my first blog on this website and I hope to have many more. I will discuss different things going on my life, around the Arkansas State Campus, the state, the country and other issues that I feel strongly about. Most of the blogs will be posted at shoutlife.com as well.

My name is Todd Fogle. I am an undergraduate student at Arkansas State University pursuing my degree in journalism. I am from Conway, Arkansas. Some of my hobbies include camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, swimming, hanging with my friends, playing video games, watching movies, and writing.

This is a super quick introduction so if you want to know anything else about me, just ask.
